General Purpose: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing all QA technicians and ensuring food safety programs and procedures are being implemented. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance to USDA regulatory and BRC requirements.
Education & Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or Food/ Meat Science, or equivalent, ability to read and interpret documented procedures and regulations.
Preferred Skills: HACCP Training certification and experience in HACCP implementation and verification, Animal Welfare training, and previous experience with GFSI audits.
Primary Duties: These essential functions are the primary job duties that this individual must be able to perform.
Conduct regulatory response to notice, Directives, Guidelines, NC Reports.
Ensure effective implementation of HACCP plans and prerequisite programs.
Manage and lead the efforts to maintain BRC Certification.
Manage and lead all microbiological testing, onsite and third party laboratory.
Provide problem solving skills with the use of data collection and interpretation.
Work cooperatively with management team to ensure accomplishment of overall plant objectives.
Manage and supervise technicians, up to 8 team members.
Ability to multitask and prioritize to changing situations.

Coordinate with third party sanitation team
Perform system verification audits.
Manage and respond to customer complaints
Assist in operations/shipping/administrative functions as needed.
Facilitate a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Supervise, evaluate, and ensure positive and compliant performance of team members
Perform administrative duties such as: time/attendance, disciplinary, performance evaluations, and training.
Remain available and accessible to respond and address QA issues when necessary.
Good attendance is a must, must be flexible to working different shift hours including weekends when necessary.
