Job Summary: The demo center coordinator will work closely with sales personnel, sales support, and customers. Progress Point Lenexa is a highly sales driven, technical meat testing area used for sales sample product production, sales demonstrations, equipment research, and equipment training. This team member would be responsible for the day to day operations of Progress Point Lenexa.
Hours: 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri– occasionally additional hours may be required; the customer’s needs are primary to all goals and concerns.
Maintain a food safe and customer friendly testing environment
Assist in the hosting of events and customer demos
Purchasing of raw materials, supplies, and non-meat ingredients
Preparation of meats and temperature control for demos
Control and maintain equipment and equipment inventory
Write technological sales reports
Control and maintain product inventories in freezer/ cooler
Preparation of designated equipment
Reassess and follow Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Sanitation Operating Procedures.
Ensure cleaning, sanitation, and tidiness
Assist sales and service in necessary duties to contribute to the overall customer experience
Maintain a log of demos conducted, objectives, customers involved, and outcomes
Stock spare parts needed for demo purposes
Maintain library of recipes, equipment setups, and applications
Use a personal computer and operate Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, etc.
Assist in other demo centers when necessary
Assist with demonstrations and testing
Participate in Department training and meetings as appropriate
Read and follow company procedure manual and safety rules
Attend courses and seminars for further training.
Attend trade shows/conventions as required.
Other duties as assigned
4-year degree in Animal Science, Meat Science or equivalent experience
Industry experience is a plus
Commercial aptitude and strong customer focus
The ability to work with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a courteous and tactful manner to resolve problems
Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Motivated, outgoing, self-starter. Able to follow through on duties and assignments with minimal supervision
Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Maintain professional appearance/demeanor
Strong math aptitude
The ability to concentrate, handle pressure and meet deadlines
Experience in using Microsoft Office for tracking, reporting, scheduling, and formulation purposes.

Typical physical demands:This position requires some standing, sitting, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, climbing, and reaching overhead. This position requires constant lifting of 10-15lbs. It requires manual dexterity, and normal range of hearing and vision.
Typical mental demands: Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action given the particular situation. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
Working environment: Works in the Test Center. The area is temperature controlled, cold, and wet. Noise levels vary depending on equipment running, but can be loud at times. Minimal travel required, less than 25%-35%.
Safety Equipment: Hair net, (beard net if applicable), smock, and booties required.
