This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading R&D team within the Regulatory and Nutrition compliance function as a Formulation Scientist. The position is responsible for the development and deployment of new product recipes for canine and feline dry, wet and care & treat products. The purpose of this role is to drive recipe design and deployment and lead successful execution of innovation and renovation activities in line with performance, cost, nutrition and timing targets.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Support Innovation, Renovation and Continuous improvement projects by providing recipes, raw materials and formulation support enabling the delivery of product performance targets and attributes.
Support the development and implementation of recipes and raw materials in the factory consistent with business processes and company standards.
Support quarterly recipe optimization cycles and report on quality and cost.
Design and implement Finished product testing plans enabling most efficient use of budget available.
Responsible to support continuous improvement plan looking at improving our nutritional conformity in line with the set business targets.
Responsible to understand supplier capabilities to deliver against our specification targets and drive continuous improvement programs at the site level looking at improving consistency.
Responsible to deliver agreed DIB projects and initiatives.
Responsible for crisis management when impacting raw materials and recipes of our NA sites.
Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit.
Ownership and understanding of recipe design software matrix including decisions on the analytical values of incoming raw materials as it impacts formula cost and nutrition.

What are we looking for?
BS (preferred MS/Ph.D.) Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biological/Engineering is essential.
Minimum 2 year experience in R&D technical role with raw material understanding and recipe formulation experience desired.
Preferred experience in a Food Industry environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering or Product/Process development
Excellent Project Management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
Proven track record of building collaborative, cross-functional business relationships
